Never Slowing Down....

This last Monday, one of Lyfe'z Tuff Ent.'s most active members, Speedy, dropped yet another mixtape called Autopilot. Laced with new tracks as well as some fan favorites. There's also some older unreleased track's. I had a chance to sit down with the Hip-Hop skateboarder and ask him a couple questions about life, his goals and his newest project Autopilot:





LyfezTuff: 1st off, how are you?

Speedy: Pretty good. Just got out the hospital.

LyfezTuff: The hospital??! What happen?!

Speedy: Heat exhaustion. Too much skating. [Laughs]

LyfezTuff: Damn. You straight?

Speedy: Yea. I'm good.

LyfezTuff: Aight. So where did you get the name Speedy?

Speedy: Got it from playing [basket]ball... I'm kinda fast...well good at changing speeds.

LyfezTuff: How does your basketball skills carry over to your music?

Speedy: The game of basketball flows like a constant beat..i pay attention to the rhythm of the ball bouncing..but you cant force the issue with either...your pace must always match the flow of the game...learned that the hard way. [Laughs]

LyfezTuff: [Laughs] Ok. So how'd you come up with the title Autopilot?

Speedy: Been really unfortunate lately, but I got a lot of people counting on me to do right. So I kept on going despite all the bullshit. I felt like i was unconsciously going on with life with a sort of tunnel vision [only] focusing on my goals and that was the only thing pushing me.

LyfezTuff: So this is like you looking towards a better future?

Speedy: Yes, and the road to that future.

LyfezTuff: What do you want people to take away from this project?

Speedy: Just to understand me a little better. [To] see that I'm just like them, going through all the same things they do.

LyfezTuff: So your a 'Man of the People'? At the risk of being incredibly cliche a 'People's Champ'. [Laughs]

Speedy: Not a champ. More like a contender. [I] haven't won anything yet..

LyfezTuff: Perfect set up for my next question. Lol. What is your idea of SUCCESS? How would you define it?

Speedy: Being able to make a living off of what you love to do. If you don't love it, you just have a high paying career.
LyfezTuff: Well said. Back to Autopilot, what are you favorite tracks?

Speedy: Intro, because I confessed how I felt about my momz finding out I smoke. Closer expressed how I feel like I'm on my way to the top. And Big Deal you get to see a touch with my cocky side.

LyfezTuff: Aight, before I get to my last question do is there anything you'd like to let everybody know?

Speedy: Just wanna let em know this is only the beginning. I'm gonna make it whether they want me to or not. My gang don't sleep when this Lyfe gets Tuff. Nuff said.
